We camped at Millersylvania State Park for the July 4th weekend, an annual family event. Given it was going to be a good few days, a good location, and we had a nice sized site, I brought a whole selection of toys to play with.

The Chameleon “Mil” Whip (CHA MIL WHIP) and extension (CHA MIL EXT) on a Bosch BT160 contractors tripod using the Chameleon (CHA SURVEYOR-A) adapter.

The Chameleon tactical delta loop (CHA TDL) mounted on the Chameleon carbon fiber tripod with two 27” extensions (CHA SINGLE-EXT); which sounds crazy but as it was a wind-free weekend it seemed pretty stable.

Radios

I took two rigs with me, the Lab599 TX-500 and the Elecraft KX3. I also keep a venerable Yaesu VX-6 in the car at all times so I also had 2m/70cm coverage. As for cables I used a a 50’ reel of Messi and Paoloni PotaFlex and Chameleon cables.
